EUDIS Hackathon on Digital in Defence hosted at NCSR Demokritos
The first Pan-European Hackathon “Digital in Defence” was held from 31 May to 2 June 2024 simultaneously in six European countries: Poland, Hungary, Belgium, Italy, Lithuania, and Greece. NCSR Demokritos hosted the event as a co-organiser for Greece, aiming to provide an opportunity for students, young researchers, and entrepreneurs to present innovative ideas based on cutting-edge technologies in the security and defense domains.
Dr. Vangelis Karkaletsis welcomed event participants which was supported by the European Defence Innovation Scheme (EUDIS).
The primary goal of this EUDIS Hackathon, is to raise awareness and seek solutions to current and future security and defence issues, such as:
During the event, participants had the chance to attend educational talks by mentors covering themes of entrepreneurship, defense, and digital technology. The top three teams progressed to participate in a consulting and idea development program.
