We are delighted to announce that the Chair of the Institute’s Advisory Board, Prof. Michalis Matthaiou, was honoured with the Innovation Award of the ARGO AWARDS 2023, organised by the International Association ARGO – The Hellenic Network in Brussels.
Distinguished Greeks from abroad travelled to Athens to receive the ARGO AWARDS 2023 from the President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou, on behalf of the Network. The ceremony took place on 1 November 2023, at Benaki Museum in Athens, Greece.
The Hellenic Network in Brussels, consists of tens of Greeks who work in the private sector in Brussels, whether in companies, associations or NGOs.
The Institute’s Director, Dr. Vangelis Karkaletsis, personally congratulated Prof. Matthaiou during the event.

The ARGO AWARDS were presented for the 5th consecutive year and have now become an annual tradition. The presentation of these awards serves a dual purpose: firstly, to reward and support Greeks of the Diaspora who honour their heritage through their creative contributions to society, and secondly, to showcase their achievements for the inspiration of younger generations and the reinforcement of outward-looking perspectives. Additionally, this endeavour aims to solidify Hellenism and the values it represents on a global scale.
